BrewDog is a multinational craft beer business born in 2007 with the aim of revolutionising the beer industry. Over the last 14 years they have made staggering growth and development, now running 104 bars worldwide. BrewDog haven’t just spent their time brewing ground-breaking craft beers, including the world’s strongest beer aka the Tactical Nuclear Penguin and a beer served in taxidermied roadkill, they have also established an ever-growing food arm of the business, including an exceptional offering of beer’s best friend: pizza.
When BrewDog decided to open a new taproom facility in their flagship brewery in Ellon, they took the opportunity to take their pizza game to the next level. They wanted to bake leopard spotted, puffy-crusted Neapolitan style pizzas and knew the best way to achieve this was with a show stopping wood-fired pizza oven.
BrewDog’s trusted dealer, RAB Fabs, hooked them up with the pizza pros of the catering equipment industries, aka. LLK! Kyle Freeman, our Sales Exec and fellow beer enthusiast, knew that our dramatic dual fuel Verrocchio oven fit BrewDog’s brief perfectly and invited them down for an equipment demo session.
They put the Verrocchio through its paces and conducted a multitude of (totally essential) taste tests till they were confident they had found the oven for them. The Verrocchio’s flames dapple their pizza crusts with the desired spotting effect as it creates a crispy base and melt in your mouth toppings. Plus, its controls are simple for all of Team BrewDog to operate and they even have the added flexibility of a gas fired option!

“It is close to our bars in Manchester which is really great as well. Kyle’s been great walking us through everything. Overall, it has been fabulous to come here for a few days and put ourselves and the oven through the paces so when we go up to Ellon we’re ready to smash everything out. We’re really grateful, it’s been a fabulous experience!”
The LLK Engineers packed up a brand spanking new Verrocchio oven kit and headed up to Ellon to work in collaboration with Brewdog’s trusted dealers at RabFabs to build and install the Verrocchio onsite at their HQ. Tom had nothing but good things to say about his experience working with Robert Attrill at RabFabs; “He gets things done for us quickly and is a really nice guy. Plus, he's good fun to have a beer with! We can't thank him enough for getting our specs and putting up with our demands. He's a fabulous guy and a joy to work with!”
Tom’s overall thoughts were “the woodfired pizzas taste incredible and look incredible, I think this oven is going to be a big step forward for BrewDog.”
