Your stock may be precious to you but, sometimes, you just need some space! Unfortunately, often when people put their stock out of sight, they fail to remember to put in the necessary precautions to ensure that everything is still in one piece, or even still there, once it’s returned to!
We’ve put together 5 handy tips to help you make safely storing your stock simple.
1. Pallets
The floor is no place for your precious stock. Raise it up with wooden pallets! This is the best way to ensure your stock remains clean, dry and protected from whatever is going on at ground level.
2. Preparation
Make sure your stock is scrubbed within an inch of their life before you commit it to storage- if items were shabby before you left them, imagine how bad they’ll be when you return! Sealing your stock in resistant industrial plastic wrap will help to keep out any unwanted invaders such as insects or dust.
3. Security
Once your stuff is loaded, get it locked in a warehouse with a high standard of security! A heavy duty padlock on your items will help provide that extra peace of mind.
4. Labels
When you and your stock come to be reacquainted after a long period apart, you will be forgiven for forgetting just what exactly you’ve got where. Safe yourself a time consuming search and label every box or item prior to storing.
5. Organisation
There are a few trick of the trade when it comes to storing items to Tetris perfection. Start with the large items first then stack smaller items on top. Dismantle items that can be taken apart as the segments will be easy to sneak into little nooks and crannies (remembering to label them!). Keep the items you are likely to need first at the front.
